RT-130 Annual Refresher /

Pack Test /  Yellow Card

RT130: This Course provides the experience Firefighter the Annual Refresher and Pack Test necessary to obtain a current "Red Card".  Consisting of four hours of classrom instruction, Fire Shelter Deployment Exercise and Work Capacity Test.  Upon completion of this Course, student will have earned a "Red Card" and all Certificates necessary to hire on Wildland Fires. 

Work Capacity Test (WCT), known informally as the pack test, is a physical test for wildland firefighters. The pack test is intentionally stressful as it tests the capacity of muscular strength and aerobic endurance of the firefighter.

 

Yellow Cards will be issued to those individuals who do not need FFT-2, but require the Fireline Safety class and/or a pack test (arduous, moderate or light-walk).

** Beginning in 2016 - ALL HEAVY EQUIPMENT AND SUPPORT WATER TENDER OPERATORS WILL NEED TO ANNUALLY COMPLETE THE LIGHT WALK TEST; Walking 1 mile in 16 minutes. **
