2021 Fire Season:
Need qualified employees for Camp Support and Fire Suppression.
Region 1 & Region 4 (Seasonal Only - You MUST RE-APPLY EVERY SEASON)
  

**** Returning individuals are required to Re-Apply and fill out new employment paperwork every year.

      
CAMP SUPPORT: 
 *   No firefighter training required
 *   Fire Safety (RT-130 Yellow Card) Course Required.

DUTIES: Duties include running weed wash stations (must be able to stay at camp for an unlimited # of days), setting up and taking down camps, providing support for everyone and any other duties assigned. 

 

HOURS/DAYS: Positions are an ON CALL BASIS.  Must be able to report when called. Must provide your own personal sleeping bag, tent & personal hygiene items.  Food & Lodging at Fire Camp is provided.

ENGINE BOSS:
 *  Must have Task Book completed.  Must provide required S290, S230, IS700, FFT2 and RT130 Certificates
 * Must have been on a fire within the last 5 years and worked as Engine Boss and provide proof.       

HOURS/DAYS: Varied and long.  Positions are an ON CALL BASIS.  Must be able to report when called.  Must have your own NOMEX CLOTHING, FIRE FIGHTING BOOTS, SLEEPING BAG, and TENT.  Food & Lodging at Fire Camp is provided.

SQUAD BOSS: 
 * Must have Task Book completed. Must provide required S131, S133, IS700, FFT2 and RT130 Certificates

HOURS/DAYS: Varied and long.  Positions are an ON CALL BASIS.  Must be able to report when called.  Must have your own NOMEX CLOTHING, FIRE FIGHTING BOOTS, SLEEPING BAG, and TENT.  Food & Lodging at Fire Camp is provided.

WILDLAND FIREFIGHTER / FFT2:    
 *
Firefighters MUST have current RED Card & provide required FFT2, S130, S190, I-100, L180, IS700, and RT130 Certificates.

DUTIES:  The majority of the duties performed by a wildland firefighter are outdoors.  Experiencing elements of all four seasons is not uncommon.  Depending upon where you are stationed, you may experience all four seasons within a few days.  Most duties are related to prescribed burning, wildland suppression, and fire preparedness.  These duties include serving as a firefighter or engine operator during prescribed burning and wildifre suppression activities; conducting regular maintenance and repairs on various equipment such as fire engines, tractors, mowers, chain saws, and hand tools; serving as a crew member during fire break preperation which involves rock removal, mowing, trimming, tree and brush removal.

REMEMBER!!

  • TRAINING IS ONLY DONE IN THE SPRING.  YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PAPERWORK READY BEFORE FIRE SEASON STARTS.

 

  • IF YOU ARE ON A FIRE DEPARTMENT, THERE IS A CROSSWALK BETWEEN WILDLAND FIRE & STRUCTURE FIRE.
